The Coaches and Staff of Mania Training Facility
Gina Tedesco – Coach/Owner
Gina’s official “cheerleading coach career” began as the NRHS Varsity Cheer Coach in June of 1999. She coached NRVC for 9 seasons before she retired from that position, changed gears a bit and began coaching at CheerMania All Star Cheerleading in 2008. In addition to her many years of experience in coaching athletes of all ages, she holds holds various cheer coaching certifications in National Federation of State High Schools (NFSHS), National Cheerleading Association (NCA), American Association of Cheerleading Coaches & Administrators (AACCA), and United States All Star Federation (USASF). Over the past 10 seasons, she has coached various age levels, and skill levels at Mania. Most recently, Junior 2 Cadets (2016) and Bombshells (2017) teams earned a bid to the first ever D2 Summit which is the National Championship for Small Gym Programs. Coach Gina additionally has over 20 years of full-time educator experience teaching students with and without special needs at North Rockland High School, in Thiells, NY.
Tanya Kelsch – Coach
Tanya started her coaching career 15 years ago and is certified with USASF, ACCCA, and NCA as well as being CPR/AED certified. In addition to coaching at CheerMania, Tanya is the varsity coach for the North Rockland High School cheer team. Tanya has coached a number of teams to first place and champion titles and, as always, is excited to continue working with the CheerMania All-Stars
Michael “Chip” Kelsch – Coach
Chip has been coaching for the past 13 years, starting when his 12-year old daughter (at the time) begged him to coach her pop-warner cheer team! He has spent the last 9 years on the staff at CheerMania. Chip has coached All-Star levels 1-4 and led several teams to National Champion titles, including an Overall U.S. Finals Grand Champion title in 2012. He is certified with USASF, ACCCA, and NCA. In addition to coaching at CheerMania, Chip is also an assistant coach for the North Rockland varsity cheer team. Outside of Mania, Chip works in NYC as a Field Supervisor for Concord Elevator Industries.
Stefanie Petry – Coach
Stefanie is Doctor of Physical Therapy student at Mercy College and ALMOST DONE! She has cheered at Mania since it’s inception in 2005, and started coaching tiny’s/mini’s/youth with Coach Gina when she was 15 years old. She was on the North Rockland Varsity Cheer team for 4 years and cheered 4 years through college at SUNY Cortland, being head captain for her last 2 years. She has been on NCA staff (National Cheerleader’s Association) for the past 4 years and teaches stunt/tumble classes and camps at Mania. She is AACCA Certified and USASF Certified through Level 4.
Claudia Dentico – Coach
Coach Claudia is an Exercise Science major at Manhattan College, a competitive CrossFitter and an aspiring Nutritional Therapy Practitioner. She cheered in Pop Warner for 7 years (where she was coached by Tanya, Chip and Stefanie) and on North Rockland Varsity for 4 years. Her experiences at Mania include being a tumbling instructor, Senior class instructor, and cheer coach for 2 years (including 2016’s Mini team and the 2017 Mania Lite program). She is to be USASF certified again this summer.
Danielle Talbott – Coach
Danielle is the Head of Sales for the Eastern U.S. for XOJET – a private aviation company. While a new coach at Cheer Mania this year, she is not new to the Mania family or to the sport of cheerleading. Her daughter, Elle, started at Mania on the half-year Mini team in 2015, competed on the Youth 1 team last season, and is on Junior 1 this year. Growing up, she cheered for 10 years including high school and All-Star level 5 IOC (International Open Coed). She was part of an All-Star team that earned many national titles and competed at what’s now known as Worlds. She has recreational cheer coaching experience and is now becoming USASF Credentialed to take on All-Stars!
Joe Lewin – Tumbling Director
For more than 30 years Joe has been involved in both individual and team sports coaching/ teaching and directing gymnastics program in the United States and abroad. Joe owned The Gym in Suffern New York for over 10 years. He was co-owner and director of Universal Gymnastics in Spring Valley, New York; The Mini Gym of Pomona New York and was the founder of Mini Gym program for preschoolers and gymnastics in White Plains, New York.
Briana Alvarez – Assistant Tumbling Director
Briana’s been coaching gymnastics for eight years. She is the Assistant Coach of Suffern High School Varsity Gymnastics team, the only HS Varsity Gymnastics team in Rockland County. She has been coaching at Mania Training Facility for the past 2 seasons. She teaches tumbling classes and gives private tumbling instruction lessons.
Celeste Monroe – Office Manager
Celeste has been a part of the CheerMania Team since 2016. Celeste comes to Mania with more than 10 years experience from the Skilled Nursing/Sub Acute Care industry. Celeste is also an accomplished seamstress and our in-house crafter.
